An Online Poker Tournament casino for hold ’em players can be a fun place for everyone to battle against other people’s wit, patience, emotional endurance, and creativeness, and of course test each others luck as you battle for the top prize. Unfortunately, a single bad experience of having your money scammed can ruin your fun, and finances. Regardless of if your number one priority is to either make money, have fun as long as you can whenever you want to without being defrauded, or protect the money you have, it’s important that you choose the right poker room.
Imagine you’re playing a Texas hold em tournament online at a small online casino at 2am. With 5 players left you pick up what’s known in the poker world as “Big Slick” Ace King. The first loose player limps in, a maniac raises, and you decide to move all in for 150,000 with 75,000 already in the pot. Your opponent calls showing you AQ… You’ve felt like you’ve been robbed before as in an earlier tournament the past 4 times you’ve been all in with AA preflop and lost. But your hand holds up and you win! The tournament continues and before you know it, you’re all in with A4 vs QJ heads up and if your hand wins you win… K28 flop, then a queen on the turn… no! But as you stand up just about ready to pull your hair out, an ace hits on the river, and you win thousands of dollars!
After dreaming about what you are going to spend it on, you decide to cash out the next day. Then the site requires that you make a deposit before you can withdraw so you do entering your credit card. Then you request a withdraw and it says it will take 3-7 days until your check arrives. 14 days later, still no check 918kiss!
So you try to contact customer service… you call the number only to find the number is out of service. You do all the research only to find out the site on a website review page. As you read in horror you find out… You’ve been scammed!
You spent all this time and all this money trying to win back your money that you were scammed out of the last site, you finally win it back despite having several bad beats in that tournament only to find you can’t get your money. You’re furious!
Although this story is just a dramatization and not a real event, this sort of thing does happen. It’s only natural to want something better, which is why you must stick with a trusted site with good customer service. There are only 2 poker sites that I recommend: poker stars, and full tilt poker. I haven’t been scammed in every other poker site I’ve played, but there have been questionable things happening to other people at the other big poker sites involving the security team intentionally leaving themselves a backdoor so they could cheat by seeing your cards and/or knowing, and even influencing what cards are coming. I’m sure those aren’t the ONLY safe poker sites, but the smaller sites simply cant afford the same high level of security as the top two. And while Party Poker used to be safe while it was still in the US, and still may be; it is more concerned about it’s shareholders than it’s customers. It also doesn’t have the same US regulations that Full Tilt Poker and Party Poker are subject to.
While it’s certainly possible you will have a safe secure experience at other poker sites, it’s best to stick to the top two companies that have never had a problem and have a record and reputation of integrity. That will allow you the ability to make money, have fun, and protect what you have for as long as you want whenever you want.
